Scarlett Johansson was born on November 22nd, 1984 in New York City New York. She is an American actor and singer whose talents have won her recognition across many types of films ranging from thrillers and adventure films to period dramas. Johansson was the child of a filmmaker and architect. Her family was based in New York City. Hunter is her twin sister, was born in the city of New York. At the age of seven, her interest in acting had increased. She began to audition for commercials. Then she began her studies at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute and afterwards went to the Professional Children's School in Manhattan for further training in her craft. When she was a kid Johansson was in Sophistry together with Ethan Hawke and made her movie debut at Rob Reiner's North in 1994. Johansson was next seen on screen in Just Cause (1995), after which she made her debut in the film Manny & Lo - a story of two sisters and orphans, who manage to escape. The film received critical acclaim for her role in the film as a teen who been injured in a horrific accident in The Horse Whisperer (1998) as well as further recognition in the role of a sarcastic teen who is a solitary Rebecca on the set of Ghost World (2001). Smith created a commercial for Dannon. Like many young actresses she began her stage career. In addition to other projects in the USA she also made her theatrical debut in Wildflower. She was a graduate of at the Stonestreet Studios Conservatory of the New York University Tisch School of the Arts.
